Your challenge
To support the continuous growth, we are looking for reinforcement in the engineering department. You’ll be a member of our multidisciplinary engineering team at the site of Advionics at Oostkamp (West-Flanders). As a requirements and product safety engineer, you guide the engineering team to adhere to industry regulations, project and product safety requirements to create a successful end product that is part of (sub-) systems in various projects, mostly radar- and RF-related. This typically involves:
• Determining the different requirements (functional, safety, customer, environmental, software,…) applicable to the project;
• Understanding how to meet those requirements;
• Defining together with the engineering team how to verify and validate the different requirements;
• Translating complex requirements in clear and easy to understand requirements;
• Managing and documenting the requirements including follow-up;
• Communicating and reporting the status to the project manager and customer but also within the team;
• Conducting Risk Assessments on products or systems to identify potential hazards and assess their impact on consumer safety. This involves analyzing the entire product lifecycle, from design and production to distribution and use;
• Ensuring that designed products meet specific safety standards and regulations to protect the end users and services staff;
• Assessing potential risks associated with a product throughout its lifecycle, from design and development to manufacturing, distribution, and use.
• Collaborating with the engineering team, end users and other teams to understand business needs and functional specifications;
• Bringing in your experience in product safety and or requirement management;
• Ensuring that the requirement and product safety process is applied in a pragmatic way;
• Setting-up guidelines for the engineering team;
• Proposing with optimization/introduction of existing/new sub processes (or tools) in the field of safety and requirement management;
• Reporting to the Team lead of V&V (Validation & Verification);
• Writing technical documentation (Requirement specification; Safety specification,…);
• You monitor the registration of new and existing substances used in our designed products to achieve compliance with REACH or similar regulations;
You provide your expertise on system level together with the other team members. You report in accordance with project team objectives, requirements and schedules.
Algemene vereisten
Your profile
• You have a master’s degree in electronic or electromechanical engineering.
• You have proven professional experience in requirement management and/or safety engineering (min. 3 years).
• You have a sound understanding of system engineering process and knowledge in RF design.
• You are communicative team player who shows initiative and possesses a proactive mindset
• You are strong in process and solution-oriented thinking.
• You are creative, structured and eager to learn with great perseverance.
• You have strong analytical skills.
• You communicate fluently English (verbal and written).
Extra assets
• You have experience with software-tools within the safety and requirements management environment.
• You have experience with software-tools as Jira and Confluence.
• You have knowledge of conducting FMEA’s and Safety Fault Tree Analysis.
• You have knowledge of the Dutch language, notions of French and/or German
